Overview: Some people say it takes a certain amount of madness to go on a trip like this and we agree with those people. Spiti, one of the remotest regions of India which remains blocked for most of the year is ideal for Travelers looking to explore places in high altitude.
The sub-divisional headquarters or capital of this valley is Kaza, which is situated near the Spiti River at an elevation of around 3,800 meters. There are two routes by which one can reach Spiti, which are from Manali via Rohtang and Kunzum Pass and from Shimla via the Hindustan Tibet highway, which is often considered one of the most treacherous road.
Spiti Valley is a vast cold desert mountain valley located in the Himalayas in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The word “Spiti” depicts “The Middle Land”, which was a bridge where the two great traditions of India and Tibet diffused in the trans-Himalayan region.
